Hosting and delivery
This website is delivered through Cloudflare Pages, provided by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA.
When you visit, Cloudflare processes technical connection data, in particular your IP address, the requested address, the time and HTTP request data. This serves delivery, error analysis and protection against abuse. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR: my legitimate interest in a reachable and secure website.
Cloudflare acts as a processor. Its global network may also process data outside the EEA. Where transfers require safeguards, the measures described in the Cloudflare Data Processing Addendum apply, in particular EU standard contractual clauses. Cloudflare also explains its data processing in its privacy policy.
Retention depends on how long the data is needed for delivery, error analysis and security, and on statutory retention duties. I do not keep any additional personal access logs.
Appearance and external content
If you explicitly choose “Light” or “Dark”, your browser stores this choice under theme in localStorage. It stays until you select “Auto” or clear the site data. The choice only serves your preferred display and is not sent to me by this website.
Fonts and images are served from this website itself. Apart from audience measurement (see below), no analytics scripts, ad trackers or Spotify queries are integrated. The only embed is a YouTube video in a note (see below). Profile and project links contact the respective external provider only when you click them. Its own privacy policy applies to its processing.
YouTube video in a note
A note may contain a YouTube video. No connection to YouTube is made when the page loads. Only when you click “Play video” does your browser load the player from youtube-nocookie.com (Google Ireland Limited, Dublin). Google receives, among other things, your IP address and may set cookies or access your device. The legal basis is your consent by clicking (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 165(3) Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021). More information: Google’s privacy policy.
Cloudflare may use technically necessary security mechanisms to protect its services; the related processing is described in the Cloudflare information linked above.
Audience measurement
I use Cloudflare Web Analytics (Cloudflare, Inc., see above) to see how many people visit the website, which pages are viewed and where visitors come from. For this, your browser loads a script from static.cloudflareinsights.com and sends measurements such as the viewed page, the referring page and load times. Cloudflare technically receives your IP address in the process; according to Cloudflare it is discarded at the nearest data center and not stored. According to Cloudflare, no cookies are set and nothing is stored in or read from your browser’s storage; visitors are not tracked across websites. I only see aggregated reports. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in designing the website according to demand (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You may object to this processing on grounds relating to your particular situation (see “Your rights”). More information: Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Contact by email
If you write to me, I process your email address, the message content and any details you provide voluntarily in order to handle your request. The service providers involved in transmitting email are also involved.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for contractual or pre-contractual requests, and otherwise my legitimate interest in answering under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Messages are deleted once they are no longer needed for handling and any necessary follow-up; statutory retention duties remain unaffected. Contacting me is voluntary.
Your rights
Under the statutory conditions you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation. Please use the email address above.
You can also lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority. I do not carry out automated decision-making within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.
