Trailsense is a visitor counting system for outdoor trails. Small off-grid sensor nodes collect counts in the field and send them to a dashboard.
The nodes detect nearby wireless signals and process them locally. They send aggregated counts over the mobile network, without using cameras.
A pilot near the Arzler Alm tested two nodes, including one alongside an existing counter. The project brings together hardware, on-device software, connectivity and the web interface.
